Today dear readers we travel to Santorini to enjoy the sunsets…yes plural person… most of the visitors believe that Santorini has just one spot for the sunset but it is not true!!!
Santorini is known for its breathtaking sunsets, so it can be tough to choose where to watch it from. However, some of the best sunset spots in Santorini include:
1) Oia Castle: This is probably the most popular spot to watch the sunset in Santorini. It’s really crowded and sometimes it is a battle to take place to watch the sunset…
2) Skaros Rock in Imerovigli: This is a great spot if you want an unobstructed view of the sunset. It’s a bit of a hike to get there, around 30 minutes following an old path but it’s worth it.
3) Pyrgos Castle: The ruins of the old Venetian Castle offer views of the sunset and the entire caldera with no people around…
4) Akrotiri Lighthouse: My favourite place to enjoy the sunset, this is a lesser-known spot, but it offers a peaceful and beautiful setting to watch the sunset because it is the extreme south west side of the island, you will be on the cliff in between of the caldera from one side and the deep Aegean on the other, clean views, sailing ships passing down, no crowds, no rumours just you and the nature!
5) Amoudi Bay: This small fishing port is a hidden gem and offers a unique perspective on the sunset, you can enjoy it during a fish dinner in one of the famous taverns at the bottom.
6. The heart of Santorini: located in the village of Megalochori, this pumice rock has been shaped by the weather as a heart, unique peaceful place to enjoy the entire caldera and the sunset too!
7. The wineries: both wineries on the cliff, Santo Wines and Ventsanos Winery, offer an amazing spot to enjoy the views on the caldera, watching the sunset and drinking a good local wine!
